iPhone 3OMGeeze - The Insanity Begins

One of your favorite LeetGeeks - @wirelesspacket was one of the first on the East Coast to garner the newest handset in the iphone lineage - iphone 2.0 - 3G

Wirelesspacket and myself (@4four1ones) were hanging out last night watching Leo Laporte’s 24 hours of iphone at http://twitlive.tv/. It appeared early in the evening that the sentiment was, well, “meh…” in regards to the excitement surrounding the new iphone. However, early this morning the sentiment changed and the excitement surrounding this product launch exploded.

Wirelesspacket ran out to his local ATT store at approx 6:00 am in New Jersey. At that time there were about 15 people in line. As the doors began to open at 8:00am, a frenzied crowd began running towards the store and the line had increased 10 fold, nearly 200 people. He took some great shots of his new shiny phone and of the store. Check them out below. We will be reporting more local news from Jersey City and Houston as today’s iphone launch continues.
