Internet surfing restrictions!! CAPS!! Time Warner!!
June 4, 2008

The time of unlimited internet has come to an end! I suppose we have reached the invisible barrier! Today ars technica reports that Time Warrners 40GB for $55 per month cap has arrived.
Lets lay out all the pricing plans first before I comment!!
Lowest: 768kbps with a 5GB cap for $29.95 per month.
High: 15mbps with a 40GB cap for $54.90 per month.
Consumers will pay an overage charge if they exceed there monthly allowed bandwidth!
Now here is my rant!!
This is so counter productive. It holds back in the advance of technology! Time Warner provides you a service with this extremely poor business model. This sounds like AOL to me back in the dial up days and we all remember what happened with AOL and TIme Warner. I feel sorry for anyone who is in a Time Warner coverage area! My advice is to switch to FIOS or DSL if available in your area!
Do you want to watch the bandwidth meter? I am going to say it again!! This is an extremely poor business model! Dreamed up by some corporate hog worried about the numbers!
Here is a tip Time Warner. Provide a solid and reliable service with great customer support! Decent prices and reliable upload and download speeds. Make your consumers love you for your service! Not for putting restrictions on their service! Booooooooooooooo
