Hulu Streaming On An iPhone Near You?
April 20, 2009

According to Silicon Alley Insider, Hulu is making their move to the iPhone platform. IT’S ABOUT DAMN TIME!! It is presumed that users of the iPhone Hulu application will have free access, like on the desktop version, to the entire collection of TV shows and movies. The Hulu application will stream over WiFi and 3G connections - get ready AT&T. If the Hulu app does, in fact, make it’s way onto iTunes, I will consider this a win for other streaming media applications to stand a chance - Slingbox, anyone?. Here’s hoping anyways.
Why would Apple and AT&T approve this app, which will use up a lot of bandwidth and compete with Apple’s iTunes video store? Because it will help sell iPhones, iPod touches, and AT&T subscriptions. And that’s the whole point of the App Store. (And if we were Hulu, we’d offer Apple and/or AT&T an ad revenue-sharing deal, too.) - from Business Insider
Think about it for a second. If Apple will allow for the Hulu app to become active on iTunes, that would seem to present the possibility that this could really break open other mobile streaming possibilities. As you probably already know, people are starting to spend more time on their smartphones than their computers. AT&T knows this, as does Apple.
Keep your fingers crossed peeps.
Haven’t been to Hulu yet? Really?? Check out Hulu Here.
