The Lost Boys - A Trip Back To My Childhood

May 28, 2008

It was during a sleepover party in 1987, at Jaime Segura’s house, that I was introduced to what would become one of my favorite movies: The Lost Boys. I was 10 years old and was a fan of Nintendo, skateboarding, Def Leppard, and scary movies. I was a typical kid of the 80’s and I was damn proud of it. I often find myself, on a day like today, wishing I could go back to those times: summers that lasted forever, the way popsicles tasted so good, the sounds of awesome music, the WWF and Hulk Hogan, and some of the best movies ever made.

I found this video mashup of different scenes from The Lost Boys edited to the song, “Cry Little Sister” by G.Tom Mac. This definitely took me back

This is what makes the internet so awesome! I was able to relive a couple of these awesome childhood memories and escape from the b.s. of today via streaming video

I also understand that there is a second Lost Boys - The Tribe, coming out soon. I just don’t know if they will be able to pull it off without Jason Patric, Keifer Sutherland, and the rest of the original cast. Times change…people change…priorities change…I am glad to read that Corey Haim WILL be featured in the film. I was really let down when I read that he was not going to be featured in the film. I mean seriously, how could you make a second installment of The Lost Boys without both of the Coreys? Turns out that is not the case, and Haim - “Sam” will be present and accounted for in the film.

Here is the trailer for The Lost Boys 2 - The Tribe: Straight to DVD & Blu-Ray 7.29.08

Being a die-hard fan of the franchise, I owe it to myself to see what The Tribe is all about. Until then I will always have the original to fall back on, when I need to escape back to those lost days as a kid of the 80’s. It has been over 21 years since the first movie came out! Damn, I’m getting old. To hell with getting old, it’s all about your frame of mind. I gotta get back to my time machine and listen to this kick ass song one more time…care to join me? I promise I won’t “VAMP OUT” on you.

May 19, 2008

Steve Ballmer, microsoft’s pitbull, was attacked by an angry student at a university in Budapest, Hungary. Not sure what this dude is saying, but he was mad enough to throw some eggs at the head of Ballmer. Sounds something like, “Give Hungary 45 million dollars back!” Anyways view the video and see for yourself.

New Media Will Take Over Old Media…Or Not?

May 17, 2008

The fall of old media is upon us very soon. The fall of it will be very great and for some, too soon. Or will it?

For the past few years, I have been convinced that the rise of podcasts, social networks, live streaming video, and other web technologies will ultimately seal the death of “old media” such as radio and television due to the fact that these old Read more

The World Wide Web of Conferences - What’s Next?

May 17, 2008

@wirelesspacket, @garyvee and @4four1ones at The Wine Library
Conferences, conferences, conferences, conferences…..you know how it goes. So many great conferences so little time/money..whatever. I just attended one of the first conferences on my target list for this spring/summer - PodCampNYC 2.0, and let me tell you how pumped up I am. I am so ready to set my publishing schedule, create my value wake, declare my space, get people talking, find my voice, flickr more, work more on wiki, network with new friends, get rid of the distractions, surround myself with like minded-successful people, collaborate, share and basically, just have some damn fun with all of this. Sounds like alot, I know. But, let me tell you something peeps, this is what it is all about. If you want to move into this space, you have to be prepared to learn from others, try new things, admit that you don’t know it all, seek advice, stay true to yourself, and get some consistency. Does Gatorade make a product that will help you accomplish all of this…no? Read more

GTA IV - A True Blue Review

May 12, 2008

I play games. I mean a festival of games. As in I have repeatedly ditched a social life all together for video games. The latest installment of Grand Theft Auto IV has kept me that much more isolated with society. You play as Niko Bellic, A rugged war-stained soldier looking to run away from his problems in Europe and make a new life in Liberty City and meet with his cousin Roman living there. Murder, drugs, and disease ridden hookers/girlfriends ensue. With this said, I think Grand Theft Auto IV has taught me what I need to know when I decide to actually come back into contact with the real world. Here are it’s teachings/lessons.
