Twitter: Mobile Trivia Gameshow While Stuck in Traffic

April 30, 2008

We talk about twitter all the time in our community. What is twitter? Can you define it? Do you like it? Do you prefer it over other platforms? What does it twitter smell like? (just kidding) I believe that twitter is what you make of it. In its most basic form Twitter is a platform. A platform where people can ask questions, tell you what they ate for lunch, communicate with colleagues, vent their frustrations, promote their blogs, post links to videos, announce fresh content, relay breaking news stories, argue, debate, create 3rd party applications that harness the powers of twitter, and so on. PodcampNYC2: Drew Olanoff

April 28, 2008

Saturday we had the pleasure to attend Drew Olanoff’s presentation “Bringing it all Together”. Drew started off his presentation with taking away all of our cellphones. With our undivided attention Drew discussed how not get sucked into the social networking blackhole. By allocating time in your schedule for these activities, eliminating useless applications, and finding the ones that work for you!

Recently I have been spending way to much time on sites like Twitter and Facebook. They are extremely useful for networking and spreading the word. But to be honest, if I am more productive during the day by limiting my time on these sites. I will get more done. Doing that people will give you less stress!

CyberPower CP1285AVRLCD UPS

April 19, 2008

A few months ago I decided to pick up a the CyperPower CP1285AVRLCD Uninterruptible power supply. Living in the city we do have the occasional brownout. The other day I was siting at my desk pulling an all niter when the power had gone out for 45 minutes. The CyberPower CP1285AVRLCD didn’t hiccup once. Every 2 minutes the unit would beep a pleasant tone letting you know it has lost power.

The LCD display clearly stated I would 45+ minutes of auxiliary power to run my devices. (20 inch iMac, 22 inch LCD display, 2 USB external hard drives, Mixing Desk with firewire audio device, Blue Snowball microphone, iPhone, Cable Modem, Linksys switch, and my old PC running Smoothwall as the router.)

I am extremely happy with this device and would recommend it to anyone.

The Belkin Upright Compact Surge Protector

April 18, 2008

The Belkin Compact Surge Protector with Upright configuration is a great way to finally take control over your surge/wiring configurations under your desk. If your work desk looks anything like mine, you might find multiple monitors, several desktops, macbook pro, printers, router, wireless phone, ipod, podcasting equipment, lamps, dvd player, cable box, lcd television, and more. This amount of equipment yields a very messy grouping of various sized power cords, large adapters, small adapters and more. Even if you just have several of these items on your work desk, you can also benefit from this awesome surge protector solution. Our most valuable commodity in our home offices or work offices is space. It seems that we are a society that is unable to live in simplicity because of our dependency upon technology. Ok, so we accept that - let’s move on. So, let’s get our offices under control. Let’s ensure that we have a safe working environment - especially if you have small children or pets (as seen in my video - Buster, my English Bulldog lives under my office desk) Let’s remove the presence of stress in our workspace by having a tidy power cord solution. Here is the answer to your surge nightmares: BELKIN COMPACT SURGE

This surge protector has the following:
- 8 power outlets
- 6 foot power cord
- 3195 joules of surge protection
- $200,000 connected equipment warranty*

This surge protector is very unique in its configuration. Four power outlets are found on the top of the surge to accommodate your standard plug and four power outlets are found near the base on the side of this upright, skinny surge to accommodate power adapters. I picked up several of these to use in both of my offices and in other areas of my home.

Pro gamers to carry olympic torch. Epic x10

April 17, 2008

Pro gamers Sky and Moon, Korean gamers and elitists of Warcraft 3, will have the grand opportunity of carrying the torch to the Beijing Olympics. With full support of gaming from the Chinese government, this also allowed two of my idols to carry the torch as well: Junchun “Pj” Sha and Lei “Leilei” Shen. Both of which are worldwide known Starcraft players.
